Gee, let's think about this.

Vampires are creatures cheating true death through the artificial and unnatural extension of their existences by leeching away the lives of others. In the best case scenario, they go through the world leaving trails of corpses, and in the worst, armies of their servants and offspring: flesh-eating ghouls and more vampires. They're contagion. They're plague. They're gangrene, spreading their decay throughout the body of mankind.

We aren't talking about an oppressed racial minority. We're talking about monsters. And if you're unwilling to call a monster for what it is when it's standing right in front of you, then you've been taken in by too much popular fiction and a spineless liberal agenda allergic to taking a stand on morality. People are so unwilling these days to agree to concepts of good and evil. Too many say there is no black and white, only five million shades of gray. But there are lines that must be drawn or you lose any shape to the world.

There's only so open you can leave your mind before it's in danger of falling straight out of your skull.

Curse? No. This is a blessing.

Blessed are those who have at last opened their eyes to the ungodly acts that have long permeated this city. It is true we have been pulled into a realm built on dark and unnatural magics, but there is no reason any of us should enage in such things ourselves! I was taught those who serve God are charged with one purpose: to prevent the world from falling into a nothing but a pit of chaos and sin. To serve the Lord is not always easy or pretty, but we must take heart and trust in Him, and He/She shall give us the strength we need to face these tasks.

So, after slicing away tentacles coming from under my bed this morning (ugh, Kraken flashbacks), I found this and this in the closet, then this in the bathtub.

Did the City's creatures have to play dressup? It's damned hard to get zombie out of a habit.

Yesterday wasn't particularly disturbing; I've looked like that after a few jobs and the smell of blood is something I've become numb to. Nor did I feel upset from the reminder of the lives I've taken for the Lord. There is no shame in carrying out His service and each spot was a like a badge of honor.

Though the stickiness was a bit annoying after a few hours.

On another less than pleasing note, apparently some abominations simply will not keep themselves and their bad poetry out of the City.
